17.45-18.15 Janske (HH)

Janske welcomes you to where the odds are bad. Going solo is a pretty new thing for the frontman of the Hamburg based rock band Guilty Guitars and he fortunately can´t free himself of his band-history. Meaning, he rocks. Here comes someone who knows how to play and who won´t let you off easy. But you´re  going to love it. The odds for that are pretty good.

18.30-19.00 Drunks And Kids (UK)

Alt-folk band Drunks And Kids formed in Berlin in spring 2011. Londoner Mick Hall and Copenhagen street native Magnus Bang Olsen began writing and performing together after meeting out of love for a couple of American bands. They are joined on percussion by lanky Dane and wit Emil Christensen, and on violin by English starlet Amy Heaton. After performing round town primarily as buskers, the guys were soon invited to perform at venues around Berlin. The band toured Sweden and Denmark in summer 2011 and are currently working on recording their debut CD.

 19.15-19.45 Joshua T (AUS)

Berlin-based Melbourne electroindiepop artist Joshua T paints technicolor sheets of beat driven kaleidoscopic bliss which transform his nostalgia and aching melancholia into sun-drenched anthems of jubilation.

Recently, JT toured Iceland and featured at the Reykjavik Melodica Festival 2011 and is now halfway through completion of his debut album in the confines of his home studio in Berlin with The Todd Brothers (Oscar Dawson and Joe Franklin - Dukes of Windsor/Planet Love Sound) taking mixing/co-production.

20.15-20.45 Tellavision (HH)

21.00-21.30 Owls of the Swamp (AUS)

Melbourne’s Pete Uhlenbruch’s alluring and surreal brew of folk is certainly enchanting but while his music is reminiscent of the wintry grace of fellow acoustic luminaries like Bon Iver and Iron & Wine, its indeed so much more. Known as Owls of the Swamp, Uhlenbruch beautifully marries his fascination with otherworldly folklore to intricate guitar-plucked melody and haunting vocals. His latest LP, Go With River, is rich with vivid folk ballads and serene ambient textures. Couple that sound with his enthralling live presence and we have the makings of a gorgeously ethereal performer at Melodica Berlin. Pete Uhlenbruch is one of the founding members of the “International Troubadour Conspiracy” and the creator of the Melodica Festival.

 21:45-22:15 Phia (AUS)

Phia is the entrancing DIY-art-pop music project of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer Sophia Exiner. Using only an African kalimba and a loop and octave pedal on stage, she creates compelling and absorbing soundscapes for her enchanting storytelling. An accomplished musician, Phia weaves humour, emotion, beat boxing and finger clicks to create kaleidoscopic, organic washes of sound.

Phia is currently living in Berlin, showcasing her EP around Europe and writing material for her forthcoming solo album, due out in 2012.
